    Approval dialogs that open when needed and close when answered

    When an MCP client cannot show a confirmation, Sequel MCP now opens a native dialog for the exact pending request. The choices appear immediately. Clicking Approve once, Approve for session, or Decline hides the window immediately and closes it after the server acknowledges the answer.

    • Expired, disconnected, cancelled, or already-answered requests dismiss the dialog without approving SQL.
    • Concurrent servers use separate authenticated sockets. Replies remain single-use and bound to the displayed request.
    • Use sequel-mcp gui --watch for a persistent diagnostic monitor, or sequel-mcp serve --no-gui for headless operation.
    • CLI and MCP version reporting now derives from the Cargo package version.

    Install or update

    cargo install sequel-mcp --version 0.11.2 --locked

    The macOS universal archive below includes Apple silicon and Intel binaries. Verify it with SHA256SUMS.txt. It is ad-hoc signed, not notarized; browser downloads may require removing the quarantine flag as described in the README. Restart your MCP server after upgrading.

    Validation

    The published source passed the full local release gate: build, serialized workspace tests, Clippy, formatting, documentation, package verification, publish dry run, and full-history secret scanning. Native macOS SQLite checks covered approve once, decline, closing without approval, session approval, session reuse, and dialog cleanup; all temporary test databases were deleted.

    Apple silicon runtime verified. Intel compiled and included in the universal binary; an Intel runtime test was unavailable on this host. External MySQL and SSH test matrices were not configured for this release run.
